North of Nowhere
My name is Madison Hill and I have two sons and have been married to my hubby for 13 years. I started my company North of Nowhere in 2020 after my second son was born and I left my long time job as a veterinary assistant to become a stay at home mom. I’ve always enjoyed creating things with my hands, something passed down from my mom, grandmas, and great grandmas. Thought I would give macrame a try and fell in love with it!
I sell handmade macrame art. My designs come from my imagination and are inspired by the outdoors as well as the kind of mount they are are on. My goal in selling these items is to help people find something that makes them happy and strikes a chord in their heart.
Short term goals are to continue to making one-of-a-kind pieces for peoples homes. I love working with custom orders. My long-term goals are to develop unique designs that can be replicated, expanding my online presence, and exploring wholesale options. Eventually being able to employ other creators.
My absolute favorite challenge/product to make is a custom piece for a particular person. They give me the size of the space that they would like to fill and after consultations with them regarding designs and inspirations that they may like, give me some creative freedom to come up with a piece unique to them.
I have select pieces available for purchase at White Brick interiors in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho as well as hosting a booth at the CDA flea which is a once a month market in downtown Coeur d’Alene. I periodically will have flash sales on my Instagram page.
